THE TEN WE RETURN IS FOR GOD

 🔖 * TODAY'S RHEMA: *

 * Hebrews 7: 8 * _And here mortals receive the tithe, and there He, of whom is testified, that He lives ._

Pak Ari is an animal lover, he raises a dog and also several other animals.  One time, Mr. Ari's friend wanted to marry his pet dog with Mr. Ari's dog.  His friend's dog was left at Mr. Ari's house until the mating season was over.  They agreed that if the marriage was successful, Pak Ari would give a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the puppies.  Pak Ari realizes that his dog will not be able to get pregnant without being mated with his friend's dog, so the profit sharing is actually the right of his friend who owns the stud dog.

Some time passed, Pak Ari's dog gave birth to four fat and cute puppies.  After they were big enough, Mr. Ari sold the puppies one by one.  Every time the puppy is sold, Pak Ari does not forget to give a percentage to his friend according to their initial agreement.  Pak Ari continues to do this until all the puppies are sold.  Since Pak Ari is doing his part by keeping their agreement, Pak Ari's friends also intend to continue their cooperation in the future.

As Christians, we sometimes object to returning the tithe to church.  Not even a few think that it is better to give the money for charity work or to people in greater need.  In fact, when we bring our tithe to church, we are not 'donating' the church.  However, we restore what is due to God.  Giving is different from giving back.  If we have a "giving" mindset, then we consider what we offer is ours.  Conversely, if we have a "return" mindset, it means we realize that in fact everything we have belongs to God.  The tithe that we return is actually the right of God.  Just like Mr. Ari who pays a percentage of the sale of puppies to his friend.  He was not giving his friend, but returning what was rightfully his friend.  Even though physically we do take our tithe offering to church, but realize that actually in the spiritual realm, we are returning it to God.

 📌 * DEVOTIONAL: *

Returning the tithe * _NOT ONLY * is simply giving offerings to the church, but in our spiritual realm * _RETURNING IT TO GOD_ *.

 🚶 * APPLICATION: *

 1. What have been your views and thoughts on tithing over the years?

 2. Why do you need to return your tithe?

 3. Why is the offering of tithing not the same as charity?

 🙌 * PRAYER FOR TODAY: *

_ "Lord, starting today we want to have the right mindset in looking at tithing.  We recognize that tithing is to return what has been due to You and also recognize that all we have is from You and for Your glory alone.  In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray.  Amen. "_
